REBUILD RESTORE RENEW
The Works Impact Report
The past year has been one of purpose and momentum for The Works, Inc. Guided by our mission to strengthen underserved neighborhoods and expand opportunity across Memphis. Our work in 2025 has centered on our simple but powerful theme: Rebuild, Restore, and Renew.
These words reflect more than a vision. They describe the daily work of residents, partners, volunteers, and staff who are committed to transforming communities that have too often been overlooked. Together, we are proving that meaningful change is possible when investment, collaboration and community leadership come together.
Rebuild represents our commitment to creating strong physical foundations for thriving neighborhoods. Through the development of affordable housing, the rehabilitation of vacant and abandoned properties, and strategic neighborhood investment, we are bringing life back to spaces that once stood empty. Our goal of restoring every home and reclaiming every property represents our commitment to stability for Memphis families and a renewed sense of pride for the community.
Restore speaks to the health and well-being of the people we serve. By expanding access to free parks, providing healthy food to families, and promoting active, healthy lifestyles, we are helping restore the social and environmental fabric that makes neighborhoods vibrant places to live. Our programs are rooted in the belief that thriving communities depend not only on buildings, but also on accessible green spaces, nutritious food, and opportunities for connection.
Finally, Renew captures the forward-looking spirit that drives our work. Through community outreach, partnerships, and grassroots engagement, we are helping residents shape the future of their neighborhoods. Renewal means cultivating leadership, restoring hope, and ensuring that long-time residents can benefit from the revitalization of their communities.
As this report demonstrates, the progress made in 2025 reflects a shared commitment to building a
stronger, healthier, and more equitable future for the areas of Memphis that need help the most.
